Steve Reeves
Steve Reeves is a writer/director/ photographer based in London.
Photography has recently become an interest, especially environmental portraiture.
His work is mainly community-based, with a particular focus on the elderly. His ongoing series, 'The Forgotten Elder,' documents a section of society that is often ignored in our youth-obsessed culture.
His work has been featured in several exhibitions, including the International Centre of Photography in New York, The Portrait of Britain, and The Houses of Parliament.
His portraits and interviews of the Windrush generation, "Britain Called and We
Answered", have appeared in several publications, including Dazed, Creative Review, It's Nice That, The Guardian, and The British Culture Archive.
His recent portraits of the last remaining veterans of the D-Day landings for The British Legion are currently exhibited at The Winston Churchill Centre for Education in Normandy. King Charles opened the exhibition.
His book of portraits and interviews for The London Irish Centre, 'Born for the Boat', which focuses on the Irish diaspora, will be published in March 2025.
His other projects, 'Michael, My 99-year-old Friend', 'Before We Were Proud' and
'Helen, a Ghanaian Queen Mother living in Brixton', are ongoing.
